Five inspiring celebrity garages

One of the great things about being a Hollywood celebrity is getting to indulge your interests, no matter how big they may be. While that may leave us in awe of the ‘lifestyles of the rich and famous’, there’s room to be inspired as well.

If you’re looking to spice up your garage space, whether it’s by adding some extra lights or giving it a sleek paint job to host an event, get ready to be inspired by these four celebrity motoring enthusiasts and their next level garages.

These Hollywood names have not only created their own oasis in their garages, but in some cases, works of art too.

Jerry Seinfeld

Known for creating and starring in one of the most iconic sitcoms of our time, Jerry Seinfeld has another passion that he’s kept hidden from the public eye – his love of vintage cars.

According to Agent4Stars.com, it’s estimated that the comedian has as many as 150 cars in his collection, including several Porsches, Volkswagens, and even a vintage police car.

Three blocks away from his home in New York, Seinfeld keeps his cars in a three storey building he bought and converted into a luxury garage, complete with a large living quarter, kitchen and pool room.

Be just like Jerry

Although mostly used for his vintage car collection, Jerry got creative and used part of his garage space to install a pool table and entertainment area for himself and friends to enjoy. The garage space doesn’t just have to be for storing vehicles and tools, it can be a place to chill out and spend some time with friends.

Jay Leno

After retiring from a seventeen year stint as host of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno had time for his other passions, notably, giving his luxury garages the TLC they deserved.

Leno has two garages; one in his residential Bel Air home, complete with six car spaces and a turntable for each car. The second is his very own ‘working’ garage where he’s known to work on maintaining his vehicles.

This garage spans 122,000 square feet and is estimated to hold around 100 cars and 60 motorbikes – he is rumoured to drive a different one home each day!

His residential garage in Bel Air features garage door openers, air conditioning and heating, an electric gate, room for car lifts, high ceilings and recessed lighting.

Jay has taken his passion for car maintenance into his own hands and you can catch a glimpse of his workshop online. If making your own car workshop is of interest, why not add some vintage car paraphernalia and create your very own studio dedicated to your cars?

John Travolta

Well known Hollywood actor John Travolta not only has a 16 car luxury garage, but two private runways for his planes to land and take off.

His Florida home is located in the world’s largest private airport, known as the Jumbolair Aviation Estates, where it’s just as common to park your plane in your garage as it is your car.

In 2017, Travolta donated his vintage Boeing 707 plane, which was part of the Qantas fleet from 1965, to an aviation restoration museum in regional New South Wales. The plane is undergoing maintenance at his Florida home, and Travolta, a licensed pilot, is hoping to personally fly the plane home to Australia later this year.

If your passion runs to planes and cars, Australia is known to have many airfields such as the ones in Temora and Rylstone, where residents can have direct access to runways and landing strips in their own backyard.

Ralph Lauren:

In an average looking warehouse outside of New York, Ralph Lauren homes his large collection of luxury cars (the exact number of cars isn’t known). The multi-storey building is equipped with a maintenance shop and is often compared to a gallery of art due it’s immaculate yet minimalistic look.

In 2017, Lauren hosted his 50 year anniversary fashion show in his luxury garage, attracting media attention from all over the world.

“I’ve always seen cars as art. Moving art. While friends of mine were into paintings, I somehow felt that the real beauty of owning a rare and magnificently designed car was the fact that you can use it,” words spoken by Lauren in a 2004 interview.
